TaskHolder Terms of Use
These terms apply to TaskHolder Desktop ("TaskHolder"), made by magentaLAB. By installing or using TaskHolder you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how data is handled.
1. Licence
- When you buy TaskHolder you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use it on computers you use, for as long as you like. The licence belongs to your account.
- You may not resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute TaskHolder, or remove or work around its licence checks.
- Everything you create with TaskHolder is yours.
2. Free trial
The trial gives you every feature for 14 days from your first sign-in, without payment details. One trial per account. When it ends, editing needs a licence; exporting your work to Markdown stays available, and your files remain on your computer.
3. Account
Signing in is required to use TaskHolder. Keep access to the account you sign in with: it is how your licence is restored on a new computer. You can delete your account at taskholder.app/account; a purchased licence cannot be recovered after deletion. We may suspend accounts used for abuse, such as reselling licences or attacking the service.
4. Purchases and refunds
- TaskHolder is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Purchases are processed by Polar as merchant of record; Polar's terms apply to the payment itself. Prices are shown at checkout.
- App licence: the trial is the full product, so please decide during the trial. If something is wrong with your purchase, email us within 14 days of purchase and we will make it right. If a refund is issued, the licence is removed from your account.
- Prompt sets (when offered) are digital files delivered right away and are non-refundable once downloaded. If one fails to download, is damaged or is materially not as described, we will replace or refund it.
- Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer law of your country.
5. Updates and availability
We may release updates with fixes and new features; you choose when to install them. Your licence never stops the version you have from working, and a network or server problem never locks out a paid licence.
6. Agent Control Tower and other software
The Agent Control Tower is optional and works with Claude Code, a separate product of Anthropic that you install and use under Anthropic's terms. TaskHolder edits Claude Code's settings file only when you connect it, after showing you the change, and restores it when you disconnect. You are responsible for the work you ask Claude Code or other tools to do, and for reviewing what they change.
7. Your data and backups
Your plans and files are stored on your computer and are yours. Keep your own backups (for
example .taskflow files in a backed-up folder, or Markdown exports). We cannot see your
local data and cannot recover data that was deleted or lost on your computer.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
TaskHolder is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, magentaLAB is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including lost data or profits, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for TaskHolder.
9. Changes
If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Important changes will be mentioned in the app's update notes.
